Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE this show? This is the biggest, most anticipated runway show of the year.
Joey always sarcastically tells me, "You pervert... You just like looking at the girls in their underwear."
Silly boy... little does he know.... Its not just about the underware its about the FASHION.
I love seeing their hair and their make upthe whole setup of their outfits
their shoes and the way they walk
what they do at the end of the runway
I just love everything about it!
I love looking at all the high fashion styles, I look at every fashion blog imaginable and see what styles are new, and I go out on the hunt for something I can duplicate that I can actually afford. I would love to have all the money in the world and have every piece of clothing ever made for the runway, along with every pair of shoes and purse to match :-)
Who knows.... maybe someday it could happen!

A Day We Will Never Forget

November 8, 2003
Brit and I had an exciting dance competition that day at Alta High School, while we were preparing for the big day we got a phone call from Grandpa Huntsman... he was so flustered he just spouted it out.
"Wendy died."
I think my grandpa thought I was my mom, I ran the phone to her in her bedroom where she was getting ready. Grandpa and Mom had a short, quiet conversation before she hung up
"Is this real?" I asked her. Unfortunately she said yes. My mom, sister and I had a quiet moment remembering our Aunt Wendy as we sat there in disbelief.
Before we left the house to go to the school for our competition my dad called to give us some words of encouragement. We obviously didn't want to go compete after recieving news like that. He said she would be watching from above and that we had to go and be strong and he would see us after. That was the first time I had heard my dad cry.
It was a long day, I remember we had ended up taking first in our competition, but it didn't even phase our family. All we could think about was getting to Doug's house. We wanted to be with our family and remember Wendy.
That was the hardest week of my life.
Each year on November 8, I, as well as the rest of my family think of Wendy. We remember all the memories we had with her, how great of a person she was, and how much we still love her to this day. The one thing I wish for the most is that Joey could have seen how great of a person she was. She would have loved him and he would have adored her. The first year we were dating was the first year without her. I told him everything about her, and he says he feels like he knew her because of all the memories we have shared with him.
The thing I miss most about her is her laugh. She could bring you up when you were down just by seeing her smile and listening to her laugh. She was always such a happy loving person and I hope I never forget the sound of her laugh, of her voice.
The year of Wendy's passing was the same year my parents divorced. Brit and I had always been close to Doug and Wendy, but they really helped us out with working through everything. Wendy was such a good listenter. I miss being able to just call her and talk to her about something I am frustrated about. There were a few times I picked up the phone and started dialing.
We spent so many nights having sleepovers at Doug's. It was guarenteed every weekend we spent with them, we would end up going to Smith's at least 3 times with Doug. Every night we spent over, Wendy had some little fun project to do. Those are the things I will never forget.
I have loved seeing Ethan get older, and see some of Wendy's features show in him. Part of her is still alive in him, every time he smiles. Doug and Ethan are the strongest people I know. I could not have asked for a better uncle and cousin. I know its the hardest for them, but they have got on with their lives, still remembering her every day.
I know she is in a better place and she is looking out for all of us. I do believe that one day we will see her again, and I am very excited for that day to come!
We all love you Wendy Sue Huntsman

After 4 Long Years...

I am PLEASED to announce.... Joey passed his written part of his Journeyman Plumber's test!! I am SO SO SO proud of my husband! I can't believe how close he is to getting his Journeyman's license. The test was SO hard! Luckily we had studied for almost 2 solid weeks, at least 1 hour every night. It was 130 questions, and they had 4 hours to complete the test... that tells you how challenging it was.
Before he took the test as he was walking out the door I had a "motherly" moment and had to say the 'Take your time, don't second guess yourself, you will do great!' And I told him to call me AS SOON AS HE FOUND OUT.... I was so anxious all day, I kept telling all my clients about it, I just couldn't stop talking about it!
I was so relieved when he called, I did a happy dance and almost started crying when he told me he had passed. We definitely had to go celebrate! So I got him a new video game on the way home and took him to dinner that night, he loves getting spoiled!
I can't say enough how proud of Joey I am. Plumbing doesn't seem very hard, but it is!! Four years of school is ridiculous but they need every second!
Now we need to focus on getting him through the second part of his test. He has a practical test where they give them blue prints and they have to build it. The lame part about that is they only offer the practical test every other month so he has to wait until December! He was mostly worried about his written, he is totally confident in himself with his practical and I know he will do great in that too!!
Hopefully December comes quick!

Another One Bites The Dust

Is it just me or does time fly by faster and faster each year?? Geez.... I can't believe Halloween is OVER and were now facing Thanksgiving. Halloween snuck up on us this year it seems, actually this whole month of October snuck up and flew by us. I LOVE October. Not only because its my BIRTHDAY month, but its Halloween. Its my favrite holiday. Although this year we were losers and didnt really decorate or do much partying either.

My birthday celebration was one I will NEVER forget this year! We went to Wendover with all our friends, the day before my birthday, the 15th, is our friends Brennon and Brindy's anniversary. So it was the 'Birthaversary' weekend.... quite a night. Dover is always such a treat, there is always something memoriable that happens. Well, this certain weekend trip to Wendover happened to be Jereld and Nicole's first time, so of course we had to go all out. It's just like animal house when were all together and alcohol is involved lol!
For Halloween, Brindy, brought up the idea of being LFL (Lingerie Football League) players. We even made our own costumes.. it took us 4 hours but we managed!
They turned out so great... but I'm STILL cleaning up glitter! We tried to get Brennon and Joey to be our cheerleaders but they both said absolutly not!! So Joey decided to be our REF and brennon was a randon inmate ha ha. Our friend Nicole had one of her AWESOME Halloween parties! Halloween at Nicoles house never disappoints... we ended up plaing King's Cup... big surprise.. and you can imagine where that lead us. Its such a fun game with our group of friends, since we have known each other for so long its always interesting what "Never have I ever's" and "Rules" we come up with..... poor Brennon :-)

Saturday I had to work and I ended up getting really sick so unfortunately we ended up not going to Sinda and Dave's Halloween party. I love their party. We carve pumpkins, play games, eat lots of yummy food and end up watching a scary moving and not paying attention to it. Its pretty much one of the few times we get to catch up with everyone from high school and chat and just have a great time. I'm sad we missed it but I guess we will just have to make this an excuse to get together sometime soon!

Joey and I are looking forward to the next Holidays coming up, Joey asked me the other day if we could put up our Christmas tree... he is so cute, he gets so excited for Christmas!

Let the chaos begin!!

Nightmares

I had a nightmare last night that Joe died in a car accident. It was very detailed and I will spare you all those details, but it was A-W-F-U-L. Obviously I had to wake Joey up. I knew everything was okay but I just had to give myself closure and tell him what had happened.
I hate having scary dreams like that, it always makes you think what would really happen if your dream turned into reality.. something I never want to experience.
When I was little and I would go to my Grandma Pat's house, she would always ask me what I dreamed about the night before. If I had a good dream she would have me tell her about it, if it was a bad one, she would give me paper and crayons and tell me to get it out on the paper. So I guess this is just me getting out my fear on paper.
Joey, I just want you to know that you are my love, my life, and my best friend. I hope I have you until were both 100 years old and we have to wipe each other's butts.. now that is true love.
:-)

Starting Small...

Its weird growing up.
It is really a great experience and I feel like I love life more being older, but its always strange seeing all my friends get married and start families of their own... even though I'm doing the exact same thing. When you first graduate high school and you start seeing your friends get married that is such a surreal experience, but evetually you get married yourself and its suddenly old news.
Then you start hearing the news of everyone starting to have babies.. that is what really makes me stop and think.. I'm not a kid anymore. We have some friends who are starting a family this year and I am SO excited for them. This is going to be quite a busy year with baby showers.. pretty much one every month for the next 6 months! But when I stop and think 'Am I ready to be a mom?' I just can't see myself there yet, I can't see either Joey or I being parents yet.
I want to be secure with our jobs, which we are for the most part, and I want a good good stable envirnment for our baby. I want a home that our child can grow up in and love. Joey and I have not been married very long at all and I just dont think I am ready to share him yet either. (as selfish as that sounds..)
We have a joke in our family that ourkids are going to be 4-legged furry babies (dogs) and joey is going to be a stay at home dad..
I think later in life when we do decide to start a family of our own Joey is going to be the greatest dad to our kids. But I know that time is far away. We just arent ready yet. I'm not ready to fully grow up yet, I want to see the world and take random trips with our friends and just live our young lives to the fullest. There will be plenty of time for kids in the future.
So this brings me to the conclusion of our furry legged children... were going to see if our apartment will let us get a dog. Both Joey and I grew up with dogs in the house, and that is something we have missed since we have been married. My mom offered to give us Fonzi.. the cutest little Mini Pinscher EVER, but Joey said NO WAY. He is just a cute old dog, but stuck in his ways and he would be better staying with my mom.
We were at Harmons the other day and they had the Human Society there with a few dogs. Joey saw one and he fell in love with him right away. He was just a furry little mutt and my heart melted seeing Joey play with the little dog. And I can't get my mind off of having a dog of our own since. So after begging and begging for about a solid month, Joey FINALLY said okay, along with the parent talk of When it pees on the carpet your cleaning it up, When it has to go out to pee at 3 in the morning your taking it, when it needs to be fed your feeding it. (I felt like I was 12 again talking to my mother after asking for a new pet)
So hopefully soon we will have a little baby puppy of our own! I guess we will just have to see how it goes....

Out With The Old, In With The New..

A common question my client's at work always ask me is "What are your hobbies?" Honestly the first thing that comes to my mind is... SHOPPING! Seriously!! I do have other hobbies: boating, hiking and such, but lately my hobby is shopping. I love being married and having a home of my own. My favorite part of having my own home is putting stuff in it! My new favorite store.....
Joey says I'm addicted, but I just really love it! Even if I don't buy anything I just love going and seeing what they have to get new ideas for my next project.

We recently got a new couch, we gave our old ones to our friends, and I love the new one! I call it a grown up couch. It just looks mature, so since we got a new couch, I felt like the rest of the place was just boring and bland. I have had so much fun redecorating our little home. I feel like our little apartment is twice its size now, we have so much open room. Its much more comfortable than before.
Before...

After...

Our Wedding Shelf, one of my favorite things

Since we have decided to stay in our apartment a little longer until Joey gets his Journeymen license (he takes his test this month!) having new things make it a little easier to wait for the time to come to actually get a house.

I finally feel like we have a home and its all put together. We have lived in our apartment for over a year now and I had always felt like it was never fully put together (I'm just waiting for Joey to put one more thing together... big surprise :-)). Having cute nice things I can enjoy lessens the stress and anxiety of what house hunting brings. Just cross your fingers that we can find one soon!

Getting The Word Out

In our journey in life, we meet people that touch our lives in ways we will never forget. In my time at Joe Morley's I met a lady named Annie, and she is great person! I loved working with her, and when she left I, along with everyone else working there, were so sad to say goodbye to her. When I first met her she was dating a wonderful guy named Dan. They got married in June of 2005, and they could not be happier! They are the most perfect couple, and I don't think either of them could be any nicer.

Dan and Annie love the outdoors, and they love to travel. They both served missions in Italy, only 5 years apart! They love to do projects around their house and they love to be with their friends and family.

I got a letter in the mail earlier this week from Annie that deeply touched my heart. Annie and Dan have decided to adopt a child. With my experience with adoption with my sister Britney and Hayden, I want nothing more for Dan and Annie to experience parenthood and I want everyone to know about how great of people Annie and Dan are and how much they really deserve this. Their adoption agent told them to tell everyone they know that they are adopting, and so I'm relaying the message. They have made a website so that whoever is interested in giving up a child for adoption can get to know them better, its danandannie.webs.com. I will put up a link for easy access on my wall also.

If you know anybody who is giving up a child for adoption, please PLEASE tell them about my friends Dan and Annie Palmer, they will make wonderful parents and will provide only the best for their child.

Another Great Holiday Weekend

Labor Day has come and gone and sadly Summer is coming to an end. Its a bitter sweet time of year, we say goodbye to our warm days wearing shorts and going boating as we welcome our favorite past time.... football with lots of munchies :-)

We ended this Summer with a great campout with all our closest friends and family. Some were missed, and we look forward to seeing them again. Like usual, we camped at Pineview in the Anderson Cove group site. We love going to Pineview, were close to the beach where our camp spot is and it never really gets too hot there. This is the campout that I look forward to all year long. We go on Memorial Weekend too, but not everyone comes to that one and its still just a little chilly. We usually get the boat out all weekend, but this one was a lazy weekend and we all just vegged out on the beach pretty much the whole entire time and chatted with our friends. Its always good eating when we camp, lots of burgers, chips cookies, nachos, cupcakes and every other piece of junk food you can think of. The fires are what I really look forward to all day. Everyone comes together after dinner and we all tell stories and catch up on each others lives. I can't wait for nex year!

The family that we camp with during the summer we also tailgate with. My family are HUGE Utah fans and I love every second I share with them. I love how Joey fits in so well with everyone, especially my cousin Ed, they have built a pretty good relationship these past few years, they are identical personality wise. If you have ever been to the tailgating lot.... you know my cousin Ed. He lives to tailgate, and football is his LIFE. We plan on going to a few games this year, and tailgating a whole bunch with the fam and friends, its always an adventure hanging out with that bunch.
We kicked off the UTES season with lots of food and drinks at home, it was an intense game but we made the win in overtime... no thanks to Whittingham. I dont think I have ever seen Joey yell at the TV like he did during that game... what a nailbiter.
We kicked off the NFL season with our friends Dave and Sinda, another night full of delish, fatty foods. Sinda is a Saints fan, they played the Vikings and kicked their butts.... Sorry Sara :-) Its always fun getting together with those 2, Sinda is so cute, she baked little cookie footballs and helmuts. They brought the good news with them saying that they are moving to Draper in October, they now live in Orem, so now they wont be so far away and we can have more games together this season.
Everyone is saying Detroit will be the ones to get ready to play this year... ya ya I will see it when I believe it.

But as you know, Joey is so excited.. and pretty unbearable. I'm excited for my Pack, were said to make it to the Super Bowl this year and if we do.... take that Brett Favre!

One of my favorite things about football season.... naps. We play hard all summer so Sundays are our catchup nap day :-)
Are you ready for some football???

5 Months Old...

(1 month old)

Hayden turned 5 months old yesterday!! I can't believe how time flies. Every month Erin and Jordan take a picture of him by his little bear to show how much he really grows... he is getting so big so fast! We love you Hayden :-)

Catch Up & Mustard

When I was in 7th grade, my science teacher used to have a Catch Up & Mustard day so we could finish all the work we were behind on; so what I'm saying is..... I have been such a bad blogger! The whole month of July was so busy! This is going to be one heck of a post!
It all started on July 30th actually, Joey and I took a drive out to Wendover to see Mr. Bret Michaels himself!
As you all know, I am OBSESSED with Bret and I am convinced one day he will be with me :-)
It was at the Peppermill Concert Hall (which I had never been there before).
We saw our good friend Amber before the show, she was a few rows in front of us. The show was SUPPOSED to start at 8, Mr. Perfect didn't come on stage until about 8:25, he came out to Welcome To The Jungle... little cheesy but I certainly did NOT care. I dragged Joey along with me becuase I thought it was be fun for something him and I could do together. He came along for my support, although the whole ride there he kept telling over and over again about how he would not know any songs because he doesn't listen to the Bret Michaels band. He was very surprised when they played mostly Poison songs. His first song was Talk Dirty To Me, my fav of his, along with 1000's of other people :-) You could tell Bret was not feeling well, he was very upbeat, but didn't move around too much. He put on a very good concert... the whole 50 minutes of it. The concert ended at 9:30, so... we spend 4 hours driving time for 50 minutes worth of Bret Michaels. But OH WELL!! It was a great time anyway and I really enjoyed myself!
This past month Joey and I have really gotten into hiking. We have discovered we really enjoy it! The thing I love about Utah is that anywhere you live, your only about 30 minutes from the mountains. We have come to like Big Cottonwood Canyon the best so far, we only go on Sundays, when we both have a day off together. We have followed some designated hikes and we have also just parked somewhere and hiked up the mountain until we get tired or get to the top. We found a great little trail that is about 3 miles and has a great little camping spot at the top of it. We take Joey's brother, Jereld, with us. He is our convenient store. He packs everything you need with him! I love being outside in the warm sun, breathing in the fresh mounain air. I'm going to miss hiking during the Winter, becuase I sure am NOT going hiking in the snow! But we take advantage of the good weather we have now.
Erin, Hayden's mom, went off to girl's camp this a few weeks ago, so Brit got to babysit Hayden while Jordan, Hayden's dad worked. I can't believe how big he is getting! He will be 5 months old this month. He now responds to what you say, he loves to smile and laugh. He hardly ever cried. He is such a loving little baby, we are so thankful for every moment we get with him. In the 2 days that we had him we took lots of pictures of course, took him out on lots of little outings and dressed him up in every outfit he had. We spend hours playing with him and cuddling him. My dad is so cute with him, he would sit Hayden in the corner of the couch and tickle his little tummy, just like he used to do with Brit and I when we were that age, and Hayden would just giggle hysterically. My mom stopped by and saw him, too. She said she hardly recognized him, he has gotten so big. We are very lucky to have chosen such wonderful people to be Hayden's parents.
Rush came into town and played at Usana (best concert place ever!) Every time Rush comes to town of course we HAVE to go! In the 6 years that Joey and I have been together, and the 3 times that we have seen them play, this last concert was the first time ever that we were able to enjoy it together. Usually I go with my dad, and we sit in the seats, while Joey goes with a friend and they just get grass seats. Joey had never been that close before and he was so excited! It was Me, Brit, Joey, my dad, and my uncle doug who all went. It was such a great time with all of them, it was nice to have a family night. Rush is one of Dad and Doug's favorite bands, so of course Brit and I love them just as much because we grew up with them. The 3 members of Rush are seriously the best musicians that have ever played, Neil Purt's drum skills are SIIIICK! They played a little over 3 hours and it always seems like a flash, no matter how long they play you always want more. Those guys are getting so old but they play just as hard as when they first started. I love watching my dad jam out to Rush, he plays a mean air guitar :-) I learned everything I know from him.
Brit was out with her friends one day when they found this cute little Parakeet just wandering the streets. They decided to try to catch him so he would not get hurt. The bird went right into their hands, so he must have been trained. They looked all over the internet to see if anyone had posted a lost bird, but they found nothing so they decided to keep him. They named him Skylar, he is so cute. Well.... Brit is always trying to get my mom and I to get some sort of pet so she can "babysit" it. My mom, Brit and I went out to dinner one night and talked our mom into getting a Cockatail. We had seen one on KSL that was already trained. Some young girl trains them and then sells them. We named him Norman Kenny Rodgers, we all couldn't decide on one name, so we gave him all 3 names. He is the cutest thing in the world! The dogs still are not quite used to him yet, but he is such a good bird. He doesn't bite, he sits on your shoulder or your hand, and he whistles everytime someone walks by him. They say Cockatails are limited in their vocabulary but we are trying to teach him some words. Norman was a good choice of a pet :-) I hope my mom is committed because they live like 20-30 years!
We had to say goodbye to a loved one earlier this month. Tonya (my stepmom) lost her dad after he decided to take his own life. It was a shock to everyone. Ed Blouin never said much at family BBQ's, he was more of a listener than a talker, he was a great guy. He was a war vet, so they had a memorial for him at the Veteran Memorial Grounds. Of course, a funeral is something that NO BODY looks forward to, especially if it is a loved one that you are close to, but I was intrigued by the service. I had never been to that kind of memorial before. The family said very kind words at the service, I heard stories I had never heard before; some sad, some that made you smile and think 'Yep, thats Ed.' It was very emotional to see the flag be spread out for Ed while a prayer was said, seeing the men in their uniforms, watching the rifle solute for him . Ed Blouin was a great man, and that Gentle Giant will never be forgotten.

Eenie Meenie ASL

Brit and her BFF Calli took ASL 2 at school, and this was their final project in class. They did such a good job! Especially Calli being Justin Beiber.... their teacher loved it so much she showed it to their whole school! I have to say I'm very im pressed they could get that much done together, its usually just joking around and being silly with those 2.... great job girls!

Time Is Ticking...

I can't believe how this summer is just flying past us. Each year I swear summer gets shorter and shorter. This summer is a bit different though, some of our best friends are leaving us to go onto bigger and better things. Our friend, Jeff, is leaving this next week to go to Chicago and make something of himself at school. Later, we will say goodbye to Kevin, and Audrey too. I know we will see them again, but I'm going to miss the time with them. While the majority of our friends will still be here, which I am very thankful for, its just not going to be the same without the whole group together.
Sometimes I think I just want to get out of here, start fresh at school, and make a great adventure out of it. I hear all my friends talking, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Politicians.. and I think to myself, 'well I just do hair'. And then after a moment I realize how much I really enjoy my job. I really love what I do and I would not change how I have planned out my life. I'm happy with my husband, and I know he is just as happy with me.
I sometimes think how different life would be if I had not met Joey, he had a chance to go to college on a football scholership in Virginia, but some unfortunate events in his life kept him from going. At the time he was very upset, but now he tells me he is so glad at the outcome of not going. And trust me... I am too :)
We all think about the "What If's" in life, and I have realized that you cannot clog your mind with those thoughts, they will tear you apart inside and make you forget what is really important. Instead, think of all the positives in your life that you have now that you would not have if you had gone a different road in life. You will realize how great you really have it.
And besides, I think I would miss my family too much if I left :)

A New Obsession

So... Joey and I have this show that we found that we are OBSESSED with! Its called Criminal Minds;
Its disgusting and twisted and I can't get enough of it!
Its just about this special crime scene unit that goes all over the country solving crimes the local officers can't figure out. Joey's brother, Jereld, has all the seasons so we watch a few episodes before we go to bed every night, which is not a good idea because I jump at every noise in the night. But that doesn't matter because I love it all the same!
And... the cute buff black guy makes it super easy to watch :-)

Friends, Fights And Lots Of Sun!

Holy cow! This weekend was a great one, and Joey and I packed as much as we could into it. It all started Friday night at Anderson Cove at Pineview. Its one of my favorite places, its a great lake with lots of beachy sand
(except this year, the water was so high!)
We had a nice fire that night, but we all turned in a little early so we could play all day Saturday.
When we got the boat out Saturday morning, we were puting around when Dad and Joey looked under the hood and saw that we had a leak. Dad being Dad, he found some random things at the little store and the campground and luckily was able to fix the boat.
He took all of our friends out while Joey and I relaxed with everyone else on the beach. It was nice and relaxing to just sit and do nothing!

Saturday night, Joey and I went back to town to our friends, Ryan and LaRen's house for the big PPV UFC fight, Brock Lesner vs Shane Carwin. It was a great fight, there were lots of little fights before, so while we watched we had lots of yummy treats. Joey and Ryan had a bet on who would win. Everyone at the party wanted Carwin to win,
everyone except Joey that is.....
So it was very intense when the fight started. It went into the second round, at first we all though Lesner was going to lose because Carwin beat the crap out of him in the first round. Well..... Lesner came back in the second round and won with a tap out from Carwin. We met some really fun people at the party, it was a great time!

Sunday morning, Joey and I got up super early and headed back up to Pineview. We were out on the lake all day long. While Dad visited with the friends, us kids
(not really kids anymore)
layed out on Doug's giant tube.
We had water fights with the younger ones, and later had some big wrestling matches on who would be thrown into the water first. And of course... Doug documented all of it,
thanks Doug!
We got on the boat later in the afternoon, I love doing a few laps around the lake, finding a good spot to sit and swim and have some lunch. I love swimming and being in the water,
Joey not so much. ;-)
After a few hours we decided to dock the boat and relax a little longer on the beach before it was time for dinner. I love watching the kids play in the water, its really true when people say that they grow up so fast. I remember when everyone of those cute kids were born. Makes me feel old :-(
For dinner we had some yummy grilled chicken, and sat by the fire for a while before Joey and I headed home. Sadly, I had to work Monday morning.

I am very thankful for Joey, everyone kept telling me how much they just loved him. And I want everyone to know that he loves them just as much! He fits in with my family so well, I was so happy every time someone told me that they liked them or how sweet he was. Even Paula Bond asked me how I found someone who could fit in so well, "He is just like your dad" she said. And I love everyone for it :-)

This past weekend was one of the best I have had for a very long time. Everyone we were with this weekend are not only my friends, they are my family and I love every moment I get to spend with them. Can't wait for the next trip!

Backstreets Back.... Alright!!

Its true.... Britney and I went to see the BSB....
and we LOVED IT!!!!
We had some dinner before, we went to Chili's, it was delicious. Then we headed off the the concert....
of course we had to get some gangsta BSB shirts.
We were so close to the stage, it was so much fun! Yes... they are getting older, but they still did a great job!
And... Nick is still as cute as ever, he is my FAV :)

Just Becuase

Is this the cutest face you have ever seen? I think so......

Holidays Anniversarys, Vacations and More...

I have wanted to blog for a while, but I just can't get a half and hour to sit down and actually write something.... so I'm relieved to get some time. These past 2 weeks have been CRAZY!!
As you all know... Joey and I had our 1st year anniversary on June 16!! Holy cow, I'm still shocked that a WHOLE year has gone by. We had a nice quiet night together with it being a Wednesday. We had decided since we were going to Vegas for our anniversary we were not going to get each other anything... well that didn't work :-) I got Joey a super nice watch that I love!! He was very surprised when I gave it to him and acted hurt that I had gotten him something and he had not given me anything because we had decided against it.
Later when we got home he told me to go in the bedroom and not come out until he said so. When I could come out of the room, he had put our song on and had some champagne in our wedding glasses with a little piece of cake on the table. It was very nice, and of course I bawled. Then he told me to close my eyes again...... and I had a bag in front of me when I opened them. He had gotten me a purse all by himself!! And.. its a very cute one too. He later admitted to me that he had gotten a little help from my sister, and together they worked it out. They are just so cute!!
I love him so much, I am thankful for him every day!
This past weekend, we went to Vegas for our anniversary. Just the two of us, we had a GREAT time! It was a quick weekend trip but we packed plenty into the weekend. We shopped and the outlet malls, Joey had to go to the Bass Pro Shop, we walked to strip and explored all the hotels. Saturday we went to Body Worlds at the Luxor... pretty cool... I dont think I will ever be able to eat pork again but thats okay.. blah. Saturday night we went and saw Zumanity, which is the sensual side of Cirque De Soleil..... all I have to say about that is WOW. It was pretty interesting I will say that. Good show though, I would like to say that if I ever got the chance to go again I would go.
Sunday, Father's Day, afternoon we got home and went straight to a BBQ with my family at my dad's house. For Fathers Day Brit and I got Dad a gift certificate to his FAVORITE place, Tepanyaki. He was very excited about it! I love my dad.
I was so happy to see my dad and Brit when they got home from Hawaii.... I missed them so much. I was surprised how much I actually missed them. I was thankful I could at least talk to them, their phones worked. Thursday night when they got home we went over there to see them before we left for Vegas and it was so great hearing about their trip and everything they got to do. They got Khona Coffee for Joey, and Joey had a heart attack he was so excited. Dad gave us $100 to spend in Vegas, he told us it was for our anniversary present from him. He is the best Dad in the world. I could not have asked for a better one!! He works hard to provide for his family and he does a great job at it!! I love you, Dad!
Joey and I both know that we want kids, but not for a while. But ever since Hayden was born I can't stop thinking of how good of a dad Joey will be. He always says, "I never had this so I want to make sure my kids have what I didn't" He always says he is going to give our kids the best life possible, and I know he will work his hardest to make that true.
I love you Joey!!

A New Challenge

So.... I GOT A JOB!!! Since I'm officially now Randi Johnson L.M.E. :-) I was able to get a job at a health clinic. I am so excited about this new job, I will be the Master Esthetician at the clinic along side with great health practitioners and dermatologists. And the best part... I get to stay at Serenity doing hair and nails also :-)

Its true when they say you learn twice as much outside of school in the real world. Even though I'm super excited about this new job, there is so much studying I will have to do. New products, procedures and different machinery I didn't learn about even in school. But I'm excited for this new challenge, and I know I will conquer it!! Wish me luck....

A Bittersweet Ending....

You wake up in the morning, tie your shoes, get your back pack and say goodbye to your mom. You walk into your classroom, look at your classmates and stop, and you think of how scared you are to start your first day of kindergarten.
Fast forward 12 years...
You wake up in the morning, tie your shoes, get your backpack and say goodbye to your mom. You walk into your classroom, look at your classmates and stop, you think of how scared you are to start your first day of your senior year.
Everything has to come to an end. For all of you who have graduated high school, its such a bittersweet feeling. It's a feeling of accomplishment and relief, with anxiety of not knowing what to expect to come in the future.
My family and I watched Britney graduate from Copper Hills High School today with pride filling our hearts for her. It was so overwhelming thinking of everything she has accomplished and been through in her high school experience.
Ballroom team at Alta High her Sophmore year, Cheerleading her Junior year at Copper Hills, and recieving her Dental Assisting Degree her Senior year. And... lets not forget about Hayden, the most important of all.
I am so excited to see what the next chapter of her life brings her, she has decided she wants to follow in her great big sister's footsteps... :-) and try out Cosmetology. I know she will do great!!
She has never been one to back down from a challenge, I can't wait to see how far she goes.
Britney is a great friend, and an even better little sister. I could not have asked for anyone else. I love you Boosey Woosey, I could not be more proud of you!!

I Wanna Be A Cowboy Baby.....

In just 6 days our little baby Hayden will be 2 months old!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone, he has transformed dramatically! He has the little thunder thighs and the chubby belly and the little double chin. He is so so so cute!! Erin and Jordan had some pictures taken of him... these are just some teasers that their photographer gave them a little early...

I love being able to see the resemblance of Brit in Hayden, sometimes when he pulls certain faces it makes me think of times when Brit was a little baby. It also makes me wonder what our babies will look like (good thing Joey never looks at this.. :p)

I can't even say enough how lucky we are to have Erin and Jordan in our lives, we just love them so much. They are such wonderful people, and I know they will give Hayden everything he deserves plus so much more.

We love you Hayden =)

What Happens In Vegas... Stays in Vegas

This past weekend, Joey saw Vegas for the first time EVER!! When we were driving into town and I pointed out the strip (this was in the daytime) to him, his first words were, "Thats it??" Geez!! I told him to just wait, he would love it when it was all lit up at night.... ya he later changed his mind.
The whole reason we went to Vegas was because RJ and Joey just couldn't go any longer without seeing each other anymore, gag, just kidding :-) It was great seeing both RJ and Ashley again, we had such a blast. We fit a TON into just one weekend.

When we got there Thursday night, the first thing we did was hit the strip. Joey was so amazed by how big everything was... none of our little 10 story buildings compare to the huge hotels in vegas. Of course Joey and RJ had to get a drink....

Of course they had to get a guitar drink... they got so much attention for it. They eventually got random people to sign their guitars. On one of the bridges they found a guy just playing his guitar, and HAD to get a picture with their guitars too.
Friday we went out and walked the strip, went in to all the little stores, looked at all the hotels, and did a little shopping. We went to the Hard Rock Hotel that is off the strip, not far, and saw the Hart and Huntington Tattoo Shop. It was pretty cool, a little smaller than I imagined, but still cool to see all those artists. There were actually a lot of tattoo shops in the hotels, it was really fun being to see all the different art work.

There is a place called Dick's at the Excalibur where we stayed and it ended up being our hangout every night. All the waiters and bartenders are really mean to you and they like to joke around. They would make big dunce hats and write mean stuff on them. It was all in good fun though.

Saturday we had a lazy morning, Joey and I checked out more of the strip, and we met up with Rj and Ashley at a place right outside the Monte Carlo called Diablos... ugh I wish we had one here in Utah. Delish!! After lunch we hit the pool for a while, it was not as big as some of the other pools, but still fun.

Saturday night, we went to House of Blue's in the Mandalay. We have been to the one in Chicago, and I thought the Chicago one was a little better, but this one was great too! We went to the old strip after dinner. When we got there we all went to the bathroom. When Ashley and I came out, the guys were lauging histerically.... They said this guy had come in drunker than drunk. He was from England. He was talking to Joe and RJ and said, "These damn American beers! You drink 6 bottles and pee out 8!" We didn't see him, but of course they had to get a picture with him...

Joey liked the old strip, but he said he liked the new strip better. I loved the lights above the hotels, its my favorite part.

We ended up at Dicks again, where we danced all night. Joey NEVER goes out dancing with me, so I had a great time with him just letting go and dancing with me. We made lots of friends, and saw some weird people... but a good time anyway.

It was about 4 in the morning when we went back to our room... where security was walking into our room. Weird... we went in and they said that a pipe had burst 2 floors above us so we had to pack up our stuff and they were going to move us to another room. We went all the way up to the top floor... it was so dark when we walked in to our room and when we turned on the lights our jaws dropped... think of the pent house form The Hangover... it was 3 times the size of our apartment!! We were sad we only had that room one night, but it was still fun to live the life of a high rolla!

The next morning we just decided to get on the road and head home. We said our teary eyed goodbyes and headed home. We miss Rj and Ashley, we just wish they lived closer. It was a great first trip to Vegas together, I love seeing Joe's face when he goes somewhere new. I can't wait until next time!!
